How to buy a phone with MTN MoMo or Orange Money

You want to buy a phone with MTN MoMo or Orange Money, without a bank card and without travelling. You can, in six simple steps, and you pay nothing in advance: payment happens on delivery, once you have checked the phone. Step 1: choose your model

Browse the catalogue or choose by brand: iPhone, Samsung Galaxy or Google Pixel. On each product page, you see the price in FCFA, the storage, the colours and the availability.

Step 2: send your order

On the product page, tap "Buy now". Enter your name, phone number, city and neighbourhood, choose payment on delivery, then send the order: it goes to us on WhatsApp in one tap, with the model, the storage and the price.

You can also add several products to your cart, then complete the order from the checkout page, or message an adviser directly on WhatsApp.

Step 3: confirm the details with the adviser

An adviser replies, usually in under 5 minutes. They confirm with you:

• that the model, storage and colour are available;
• the final price;
• your address: city and neighbourhood;
• the handover place: a public place of your choice, such as a well-known junction in your area;
• any delivery costs, shared before delivery.

Step 4: receive and check your phone

In Douala and Yaounde, delivery takes 24 hours. An order confirmed before 6 pm is delivered the next day. In the other cities of Cameroon, such as Buea, Bamenda, Limbe or Kumba, allow 3 to 7 days.

Keep your phone on and reachable on delivery day. Before paying, open the parcel in front of the courier and check three things: the phone is intact, it matches your order and it switches on. Step 5: pay with MTN MoMo, Orange Money or cash

Once the phone is checked, you pay the courier on the spot. With Mobile Money, you make the transfer from your own phone. Before you confirm, follow these habits.

• Check the amount. It must match the amount confirmed by the adviser.
• Check the name of the recipient, when it appears on your screen.
• Never give out your PIN, to anyone, even to someone who says they are an adviser. You only ever type it on your own phone.
• Keep the confirmation message from your network: it is your proof of payment.
• Be wary of pressure. An honest seller gives you time to check.

Step 6: keep your invoice and your warranty

Keep your invoice, the phone's box and the payment confirmation message. You need them for the warranty and for any return. Our warranty lasts 12 months, and you have 7 days after delivery to return your phone. Everything is written on the warranty and returns page.

Mistakes to avoid when paying with Mobile Money

• Paying before checking the phone. With us, payment always comes after the check.
• Sending money to a number found on a screenshot. Only pay the courier, at the handover.
• Paying twice because the confirmation message is slow to arrive. Wait, show the message to the courier and message us.
• Forgetting to check the IMEI. It is the easiest moment to sort out a problem.
