The iPhone 13 range: what really exists

Apple launched four iPhone 13 models in 2021: the iPhone 13 mini, the iPhone 13, the iPhone 13 Pro and the iPhone 13 Pro Max. There is no iPhone 13 Plus.

Many people search for "iPhone 13" without knowing which model to choose. Is the iPhone 13 worth buying in Cameroon today? This guide gives you the full map of the family, so you do not waste time or make a mistake.

Here are the four models, with the figures published by Apple:

All four have an OLED screen, 5G, a Lightning port, water and dust resistance (IP68) and a nano-SIM plus an eSIM. The Pro models add the ProMotion screen up to 120 Hz and a 3x telephoto. You can check everything in the "Our sources" section at the bottom of the page.

What does "plain iPhone 13" mean?

"Plain iPhone 13" refers to the standard model: the iPhone 13, without "Pro" or "mini".

iPhone 13 colours, including pink

The iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini come in six colours: (PRODUCT)RED, starlight, midnight, blue, pink and green. The Pro models have different colours.

iPhone 13 Plus: it does not exist, and the mini is the last of its kind

Apple never released an iPhone 13 Plus. The iPhone 13 mini is the last "mini" iPhone: there is no iPhone 14 mini.

For a big screen, choose the iPhone 13 Pro Max, with its 6.7-inch 120 Hz screen. For a small screen, choose the iPhone 13 mini, with its 5.4-inch screen and 141 g. If you see an "iPhone 13 Plus" for sale, that listing needs checking.

The 120 Hz ProMotion screen: what it changes

ProMotion is a screen that adapts itself up to 120 Hz. The iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max are the first iPhones to have it. The iPhone 13 and 13 mini do not.

In practice, scrolling a page or a list of messages is smoother and more responsive. The screen adjusts its rate to what you are doing, which saves battery when the image is still. It is the best argument for paying extra for a Pro model. If you watch a lot of videos or play games, the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max feel immediately smoother than the iPhone 13.

In 2026, is the iPhone 13 still a good buy?

Yes, if you want a complete 5G iPhone at a much lower price than the new models. No, if you insist on USB-C or Apple's artificial intelligence.

The iPhone 13 models keep very good strengths: a fast chip, an OLED screen, 5G and good battery life, especially on the Pro models. What you give up compared with newer models:

• a USB-C port: all iPhone 13 models charge through a Lightning port;
• Apple Intelligence: Apple keeps it for the iPhone 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max and the iPhone 16 and later (see Apple's page);
• the Dynamic Island: it arrives with the iPhone 14 Pro.
