In 2026, is a Pixel 9 still a good buy?
Yes, if you want a recent, well-supported Pixel that costs less than the Pixel 10 and 11. No, if you absolutely want the latest chip.
The Pixel 9 models keep very good strengths: the Tensor G4 chip, a 120 Hz screen, 7 years of updates and, on the Pro models, one of the best cameras on Android. What you give up against later generations: the Tensor G5 chip (Pixel 10), then G6 (Pixel 11). To compare, read our guides Pixel 10 in Cameroon and Pixel 11 in Cameroon.
SIM or eSIM: check before you buy
The version you receive may vary depending on its country of origin. Ask your adviser which version is delivered (nano-SIM and eSIM), then check with your network (MTN, Orange or Camtel) that eSIM is available if needed.
Before you buy: three checks
For a phone of this value, check three points: the phone is brand new, its IMEI is clean and the warranty is clear.
- Brand new and sealed. A genuine new Pixel arrives in a sealed box. Our guide on how to buy a phone safely lists the points to check.
- Clean IMEI. Our guide on checking the IMEI shows how to do it in a few minutes.
- Clear warranty. Find our terms on the warranty and returns page and the delivery page.
You then order on WhatsApp, without creating an account. Your adviser replies in under 5 minutes and confirms the colour, the storage and payment by Orange Money or MTN MoMo.
