The iPhone 16 range: what really exists

Apple launched four iPhone 16 models in September 2024: the iPhone 16, the iPhone 16 Plus, the iPhone 16 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro Max. The iPhone 16e arrived in February 2025. There is no iPhone 16 mini and no iPhone 16 Ultra.

Many people search for "iPhone 16" without knowing which model to choose. Others look for models that do not exist, such as an "iPhone 16 mini" or an "iPhone 16 Ultra". Is the iPhone 16 worth buying in Cameroon today? This guide gives you the full map of the family, so you do not waste time or make a mistake.

iPhone 16 Pro Max: release date

The iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max have been on sale since 20 September 2024 in the first countries. The iPhone 16e has been available since 28 February 2025.

These are Apple's dates for the worldwide launch. Arrival in a specific country may vary. Today, in September 2026, these iPhones are two years old or less. They are no longer the newest: Apple launched the iPhone 17 range in 2025, then the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max in 2026.

That is good news for your budget. An iPhone that is no longer the newest costs less, while still being an excellent phone. The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max ship with iOS 18 and use the A18 Pro chip.

iPhone 16 mini, iPhone 16 Ultra, iPhone SE 16: they do not exist

Apple never announced an iPhone 16 mini, an iPhone 16 Ultra or an iPhone SE 16. If you see these names, it is a mistake or a listing that needs checking.

These searches come up regularly. There are several possible explanations:

• "iPhone 16 mini": the mini line ended with the iPhone 13 mini. Our catalogue still offers the iPhone 13 mini if you want a small phone.
• "iPhone 16 Ultra": this name does not exist at Apple. For a high-end iPhone, look at the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
• "iPhone SE 16" or "iPhone 16 GB": these searches often mix up the model name and the storage capacity. An iPhone 16 comes in 128, 256 or 512GB.

If in doubt, message an adviser on WhatsApp before you pay.

What about the iPhone 16 Plus?

The iPhone 16 Plus exists at Apple: it is the big-screen version of the iPhone 16. It is not in the Gafloow Store catalogue for now.

The video playback times announced by Apple are: up to 22 hours for the iPhone 16, 26 hours for the 16e, 27 hours for the 16 Pro and 33 hours for the 16 Pro Max. Weight ranges from 167 g for the 16e to 227 g for the 16 Pro Max.

In 2026, is the iPhone 16 still a good buy?
