Is the Samsung Galaxy S24 worth buying in Cameroon? S24, S24+, Ultra or FE

The Galaxy S24 range: what really exists

Samsung launched three Galaxy S24 models on 17 January 2024: the S24, the S24+ and the S24 Ultra. They have been on sale since 31 January 2024. The Galaxy S24 FE arrived in October 2024.

Many people search for "Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra" or "S24" without knowing which model to choose. Is the Samsung S24 worth buying in Cameroon today? Here is the family's spec sheet:

All are water and dust resistant (IP68) and shipped with Android 14. The S24 Ultra is the only one with the S Pen and a titanium frame. You can check everything in the "Our sources" section at the bottom of the page.

7 years of updates: until when?

The whole S24 series is supported for 7 years from launch: until about January 2031 for the S24, S24+ and S24 Ultra, October 2031 for the S24 FE.

The S24 series is the first for which Samsung promised 7 years of Android and security updates. That is more than the S23 series (5 years of security).

Galaxy S24 Ultra: what sets it apart

The S24 Ultra is the first Galaxy Ultra with a titanium frame and a flat screen. It has the S Pen, a 200 MP camera and a 5,000 mAh battery.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra has a 6.8-inch screen, 12GB of RAM and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. It has four rear cameras: a 200 MP main camera, a 12 MP ultra wide, a 10 MP 3x telephoto and a 50 MP 5x telephoto. It weighs 232 g.

S24 Ultra vs S25 Ultra: the table

The S25 Ultra is newer and a little lighter. The S24 Ultra costs less and keeps the essentials.

The S Pen, the 200 MP camera and the titanium frame are the same. For the details, read our guide Galaxy S25 in Cameroon.

What about the Galaxy S24 FE?

The Galaxy S24 FE is the affordable version, released on 3 October 2024. It has a large 6.7-inch screen, the Exynos 2400e chip and a 4,700 mAh battery.

The Galaxy S24 FE has 8GB of RAM, a 50 MP main camera, a 12 MP ultra wide, an 8 MP 3x telephoto and weighs 213 g. It keeps the Galaxy AI features and the 7 years of updates. It is the choice for a tight budget that wants a big screen.

What about the Galaxy S24 and S24+?

The Galaxy S24 (6.2 inches) is the compact model of the series. The Galaxy S24+ (6.7-inch QHD+) is the large model without the S Pen. Both are in our catalogue.

The Galaxy S24 has 8GB of RAM, a 4,000 mAh battery, 25W charging and weighs 167 g. The Galaxy S24+ has 12GB of RAM, a 4,900 mAh battery, 45W charging and weighs 196 g. Both have the Exynos 2400 chip and the same triple camera: 50 MP, a 12 MP ultra wide and a 10 MP 3x telephoto. Samsung states that the chip may vary by region.

In 2026, is a Galaxy S24 still a good buy?

Yes, especially the S24 Ultra: you keep titanium, the S Pen and 7 years of updates for less than a recent Ultra.

The Galaxy S24 models have very good strengths: a 120 Hz screen, Galaxy AI and support until 2031. What you give up against the S25 and then the S26: a newer chip. To compare the following generations, read our guides Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S26. For an older model, read Galaxy S23.

Before you buy: three checks

For a phone of this value, check three points: the phone is brand new, its IMEI is clean and the warranty is clear.

1. Brand new and sealed. A genuine new Galaxy arrives in a sealed box. Our guide on how to buy a phone safely lists the points to check.
2. Clean IMEI. Our guide on checking the IMEI shows how to do it in a few minutes.
3. Clear warranty. Find our terms on the warranty and returns page and the delivery page.

You then order on WhatsApp, without creating an account. Your adviser replies in under 5 minutes and confirms the colour, the storage and payment by Orange Money or MTN MoMo.
